Medium
Instructions
Ingredients:
2 ounces limoncello
1 ounce Aperol
3 ounces prosecco
1 ounce soda water
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional, for extra brightness)
Ice cubes
Lemon wheel or twist, for garnish
Fresh rosemary or basil sprig (optional garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Glass:
Fill a large wine glass or spritz glass with ice cubes to chill.
Add Liqueurs:
Pour the limoncello and Aperol over the ice.
Add Bubbles:
Top with prosecco, then add the soda water.
Optional Citrus Boost:
If using, add the fresh lemon juice and gently stir once or twice to combine without losing carbonation.
Garnish:
Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist. For a Mediterranean touch, add a small sprig of rosemary or basil.
Notes:
Balance Is Key:
Adjust the ratio of limoncello and Aperol to taste, more limoncello for sweeter and brighter, more Aperol for a slightly bitter edge.
Prosecco Tip:
Use a dry (brut) prosecco to keep the drink refreshing and not overly sweet.
The Capri Spritz is inspired by the classic Italian aperitivo culture, drawing flavors associated with the island of Capri—sunny citrus, light bitterness, and lively bubbles. Spritz cocktails originated in Northern Italy, where sparkling wine was “spritzed” with water to make it more refreshing, eventually evolving into the iconic style enjoyed today.
For variations, swap Aperol for Campari for a bolder, more bitter profile, or replace limoncello with blood orange liqueur for a deeper citrus note. A splash of grapefruit soda can also add a modern twist while keeping the drink light and refreshing.
