Instructions
A modern take on an ancient recipe, eggnog is the frothy and filling way to enjoy winter spices! This beverage can be prepared both hot or cold but below is the chilled version (cause that includes shaking; which we all know is the best part of cocktail-making). In a shaker, combine:
2oz spiced rum
1 egg yolk (you can use the shells or a spoon to separate the white from the yolk)
.75oz simple syrup
.75oz heavy whipping cream
2 drops vanilla extract
Dry shake without ice. For extra froth, you can use a whipping coil or a protein shake ball with this step. Remove your frothing tool before adding ice.
Add ice to the wash line of the cocktail, then shake until cold
Serve up in either a footed cocktail glass or a rocks glass. The cream and egg will create a heavy and delicious head!
Garnish with grated or powdered nutmeg and Cinnamon
This drink dates back to the Middle Ages in Europe. Nobles would drink nog to stay warm during the colder winter months, prepared similarly to a mulled wine with spiced flavors
