Instructions
Ingredients:
2 ounces white rum
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
3/4 ounce simple syrup
4-5 fresh strawberries, hulled
Ice cubes
Optional: fresh strawberry or lime wheel for garnish
Instructions:
Muddle Ingredients:
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh strawberries and simple syrup. Gently muddle using a muddler or the back of a spoon until the strawberries are crushed and juicy.
Add Liquids:
Add the white rum and lime juice to the shaker.
Add Ice and Shake:
Fill the shaker with ice cubes, seal tightly, and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled.
Strain:
Double strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass or a rocks glass filled with fresh ice using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer to remove strawberry pulp.
Garnish:
Garnish with a fresh strawberry or a lime wheel on the rim.
Notes:
Freshness Matters: Use ripe, sweet strawberries for the best flavor. If fresh strawberries are out of season, thawed frozen strawberries work well too.
Muddling Tips: Be gentle when muddling — you want to release the juice without pulverizing the fruit into a puree, to keep the texture balanced.
The Strawberry Daiquiri is a classic Cuban cocktail that highlights fresh, juicy strawberries combined with the bright acidity of lime and the smoothness of white rum. It's a refreshing and slightly sweet drink perfect for warm weather.
Try This: Swap simple syrup for a honey syrup for a floral twist, or add a splash of sparkling water for a lighter, fizzier version.
